Welcome to Healing Hands Therapeutic Massage of Maryland. We hope you find this site informative and useful.

Wellness starts from within.

You can see it in the eyes if someone is healthy or not healthy. But outside signs are merely a reflection of the pain and disease that is happening within. Total body wellness means creating health from the inside out. Through proper cleansing and nutrition, one begins the process of regaining health. Massage therapy and bodywork can release muscle tightness, reduce tension and help the body function properly and eliminate pain. Bodywork therapies can help blood and oxygen to flow freely to muscles and organs and even assist in the detoxification of your body.

Our mind controls the actions of ourselves.

Resetting our thinking can help change negative behavior patterns such as overeating or smoking. Releasing feelings of fear, anger, depression, jealousy, rage and other strong emotions also begin the road to rebuilding health. You will find body pain and disease begin to diminish and healthy habits take over when the mind and spirit within are calm.

My bio and philosophy

I am Holly Carletti, a certified massage therapist. I completed 637 hours of professional massage training at the Baltimore School of Massage. I am nationally certified through NCBTMB and I am licensed to practice massage therapy in Maryland. I am a professional member of AMTA (www.amtamassage.org). I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science degree in communication sciences and disorders. I provide therapeutic massage to clients by evaluating kinesthetic movement, palpation of muscles, range of motion, and postural assessment with the use of a plumb line. I perform Swedish massage for relaxation, deep tissue massage for treatment of trigger points or knots, and myofascial release which loosens adhesions of fascia surrounding muscles due to build-up of scar tissue (due to accidents/ sports injuries/ surgeries).

My philosophy is to treat the entire person, using what is called a "soft eye." This takes into account emotional as well as physical stress on the individual. I provide the client with a safe space where client information is kept strictly confidential. I work on a treatment plan based on the subjective needs of the client as well as my professional recommendations. The initial appointment is used as a baseline assessment and each treatment thereafter will be compared at the end of the session to that initial baseline assessment in order to ensure progress within the areas of concern. After a session I will often suggest a "homework" assignment to the client which usually consists of postural improvement, methods of stretching problem areas and ways to help de-stress and relax.
